The purpose of this article is to show you how you can create and edit a registered Company. Reg. Companies are required before adding a user to the project room.
In the registered Company area under Contacts, the new user must be registered accordingly in their company. This is used to bundle several users in a company, to grant them certain rights and to collect information in one place.
To create a new company, switch to the Contacts area. Select New and Create Reg. Company.
A window with several tabs opens. Fields with a star are mandatory and must be filled out.
In the Company (short form) field you can store the creator code (often 3-digit) to inform the users, which may also be used in drawing and document management.
Important
The creator code is not automatically saved in the configuration. It must be created there separately! To find out how, see Code Maintenance
The company ID must be unique across all projects on the entire Thinkproject platform. It should therefore be structured as follows: YYMMDD-II-NN
- YYMMDD the date on which you create the company,
- II your initials and
- NN is a two-digit sequential number
The hyphens in the example only serve to illustrate the structure of the company ID and should be left out when creating the company ID.
When John Smith creates his third company on this day on 02/01/2016, it will receive the company ID: 160201JS03
When you have entered all the necessary information, click on Create to create the registered company.
