The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how the Tests/Inspections (TI) module functions in CEMAR, how to utilise the register and create new events.
Video content is available below.
The below article is based upon the ECC contract type and the terminology reflects this. Certain actions may be unavailable if you do not have the appropriate permissions. Please speak with your Admin User about whether this is the case.
You can view the Tests and Inspections register by navigating to the left-hand expandable menu and selecting Registers > Tests and Inspections:
T/I have three tabs:
- Test/Inspection - displays any standard TIs which have been communicated (including any Party-specific drafts).
- Result - displays any results which have been created against a test/inspection
- Before Delivery - displays any TIs raised when the Before Delivery Plant and Materials radio button has been selected with the event's edit form
You can click on any of the events shown to display them in more detail. Any events in draft status can still be amended and submitted (User threshold/role dependant). Alternatively, if the event is already communicated, you may review the details:
To void a draft event, select the three dots at the end of the register, and select Mark this draft event as VOID on the pop-up:
To review the toolbar options, such as the filter and downloading the register, please see our help desk article here - Event Register
Either the Employer or the Contractor may raise a new test/inspection at any time by navigating to the left-hand expandable menu and selecting Create new, followed by Test / Inspection:
You will then be displayed with a draft TI edit form, allowing you to enter the required information and communicate it to the other Party:
Whilst this event is in draft state, you can switch the event type between Test and Inspection and Before Delivery Plant and Materials using the radio buttons.
You are also able to edit the works or plant/material title, description, as well as schedule a date for the test/inspection using the drop-down calendar:
Once communicated, a reminder will be created which is visible to each Party.
At this stage the Result tab will unlock, allowing the Party who raised the event to record this detail and if applicable, Notify Defect. If a Defect is created, it will be automatically be associated to the TI in question. Please note, the Notify Defect button will only become available to select once the Result has been communicated:
If you have raised a Before Delivery Plant and Materials test/inspection, a third tab is unlocked, titled Before Delivery:
Within this tab, you are able to give a Pre-Delivery Decision using the below-labelled radio buttons:
This will then be displayed as such in the Register. By default, this will display as Pending:
Once communicated, the Employer has the option of changing the status of the TI to Dead by selecting the check box within the Test / Inspection tab:
By selecting this box, it will effectively close the event. The TI will be coloured blue and struck through within the register to signify this. Any associated reminders will also be removed:
