The purpose of this article is to demonstrate how to raise general instructions at a contract level. Depending on the contract type these may be referred to as the following:
Project Manager Instruction (PMI) - ECC
Service Manager Instruction (SMI) - TSC
Employer's Instruction (EI) - PSC, TSSC, ECSC
Contractor's Instruction (CI) - ECS
For the purposes of this article we'll be illustrating the ECC contract type, therefore showing Project Manager Instructions (PMIs).
Certain actions may be unavailable if you do not have the appropriate permissions. Please speak with your Superuser if this is the case.

There are several instructions that the Employer may raise at a contract-level. Each variant minus the PMI General communication will raise a new draft event.
To raise a new PMI, you'll need to first navigate to the left-hand expandable menu and select one of the following options:
PMI/Compensation Event - Selecting this option will raise a new draft compensation event in the register, which once complete will allow you to progress it as normal for the attention of the Contractor.
Please note - The Contractor may still raise their own compensation events outside of this instruction.
PMI (General) - Selecting this option will allow you to raise a blank instruction in the Project Manager's Instruction register.
When raising a PMI (General) you'll first be shown the above message - informing you to raise a PMI/Compensation Event if appropriate.
PMI to submit a revised Programme - Selecting this option will raise a new draft programme in the Programmes register.
You may then edit the title and description for the event, before progressing it for the attention of the Contractor. At this stage, the action will fall on the Contractor to submit their revised programme.
Please note that you'll be unable to instruct a revised programme submission if there is one current sat in draft state.
Please note - raising this PMI will generate a separate reminder to the automatic entry which is populated from the interval period specified in your Contract Data.
Once this PMI has been replied to, the usual interval period reminder will appear once again:
PMI to submit Design Submission - Selecting this option will raise a new draft event in the Design Submission register.
Please note - this will automatically raise an instruction for the design of an item of Equipment. The Contractor may raise their own design submission and can then choose between a design for the Works or Equipment. The screenshot below illustrates this:
Certain instructions will raise events in their own registers (e.g. compensation events, design submissions, programmes, etc.), however, they can all be found in the Project Manager's Instructions register:
