Adding Notes and Attachments

This article will explain how to add notes and attachments to events within CEMAR.

Each event in CEMAR has an Attachments and Notes tab which can be utilised to attach additional information to the event.

This article uses screenshot examples from an early warning, however, notes and attachments are common across all event types within CEMAR.

The ability to add notes and attachments is dependent on your permission settings on the contract. If you believe that you should be to do this, please contact your Superuser.


To view any existing notes or to create a new one, start by opening the event and navigating to the Notes tab.

Here, you can view see all existing notes for this event.

Select the New button on the right-hand side to create a new note.


Selecting New will present you with a new window in which you can enter detail about your note.

At the bottom, there is a tick box which allows you privatise the note to your Party, left unticked, it will be visible to all users.


Once you have selected Done, the note will be added to the event. The two icons to the right of the note will allow you to edit or delete the note (dependent on your permissions).

The padlock icon on the left will appear only if you have specified for this note to be Party private.

When viewing the event from the register, the notepad icon on the far left-hand side illustrates that this event has a note attached.



To view any existing attachments or to add a new one, start by opening the event and navigating to the Attachments tab.

To upload a new attachment to this event, select the New button on the right-hand side.


You will then be presented with a new window in which you are able to use the Browse… button to select the file you wish to upload from your device. If you need to add more than three files, select the Add button.

Each file may be up to 200mb in size, however, the combined size of multiple files can be more than this.

You may utilise the Title field to rename the attachments, otherwise they will display their file names.

Once you have selected your files, you may select Upload. All attachments will then appear in the Attachments tab.


The three icons that appear to the right of each attachment allows you to either download, edit or delete the attachment (this is dependent on your permissions):


When looking at the event from the register, a paperclip icon will now appear to the left of the event indicating that it has attachments:
