Optimise the size of photos stored on your mobile device (iOS)

The purpose of this article is to explain how to optimise the size of the photos stored on your mobile device (iOS).

The Kairnial mobile app offers the ability to optimise/reduce the size of any future photos stored on your iPad/iPhone to save storage capacity.

On the app project selection screen, select the Settings icon:

Within here, enable the Optimise photos setting on the settings screen. This will ensure that any future photos taken are automatically optimised to reduce the size and resulting sync time:

You can also clean up any cached items that are taking up current memory and thus potentially improve the performance of your mobile device (iOS).

To do this, o
n the app project selection screen, select the ‘more details’ icon in the project tile window. And then Information. Next, select Cleanup and the application will remove any cached items from your mobile device (iOS) for this particular project:

Please make sure that all your items have been properly synchronised to the web as it may result in losing captured data.

You can also optimise/reduce the size of any photos already stored on your mobile device (iOS) to save storage capacity.

  1. On your mobile device (iOS), select Settings and then Display & Brightness. Set the Auto-lock setting to Never.  This will prevent screen locking during the optimization process

  2. To optimise your existing photos, select the ‘more details’ icon in the project tile window on the app project selection screen, then select Information.

  3. Select Optimise photos and the application will carry out a process to reduce the size of any photos already on your mobile device (iOS). Dependent upon the number of existing photos, this process can take some time.
