Bulk update custom fields against BIM Component/Object

The purpose of this article is to explain how you can bulk import and update data held against components (or objects) in a BIM model if you are using custom data fields.

 

Note

To add/edit custom data against a Model components/objects, make sure the following permission ACL is activated - bim_param.mass_import_values_parameters  

 

  1. Click Models & Plans
  2. Click the Model/Plan Assembly which contains the relevant models
  3. Click the Models tab
  4. Click the desired Model(s) to view
  5. Select the desired object in the Model (the object will be highlighted in RED)
  6. Click the "i" icon in the right panel
  7. Click the Import icon

  8. In the popup window, click Choose Model(s) and select the corresponding model from the drop-down menu
  9. Click Download
  10. Click Generate, then download the report

  11. Once downloaded, open the report to display the information linked from all BIM objects
  12. The columns with Blue headers stand for the Kairnial custom fields (rfields) against BIM components (objects) that can be updated accordingly.

  13. Once the data is populated, select and copy all of the cells from column uuid up to the last complete blue column you populated

Note

DO NOT include the columns r_category and r_name as importing these columns will return an error. 

  1. Paste the copied cells onto the area
  2. If the data is valid, you will see a green tick in the corresponding cell. If not, you need to edit the data and restart the process
  3. Once finished, click Import
