Import a Control Form template (Excel)

The purpose of this article is to explain how to import a control form template.

You can design your form template on Excel and, once ready, import it onto your project.

  1. Click Control Forms
  2. Click the plus_button_control_forms.png button to add a new form
  3. Click the Control_form_Excel_import.png button

  4. If you have never imported a control form template using Excel, click Download to download the metadata template

    Fill the template:
    • Name - Specify the name of your line items or section name
    • Type - Specify the type of response to be configured (i.e. drop-down menu, text, signature, etc.)
    • Color - Ability to specify a color (name of HEX color code) per line item to visually organize your control form, if needed
    • Default Value - Specify a default value for your controlled items, if needed
    • Required - Enter Yes if a response to specific line items is compulsory
    • Index - Specify a number to sort and organize your control form (i.e. 1, 2,3...)
    • Choices - Specify the available choices for the users (only for Multi-choice type of response) 
    • ColorMC - Specify a color per available choice for the users (HEX color codes are expected - (only for Multi-choice type of response)
    • Expected value
    • EN - Specify an English translation of your line items (this translation will be visible automatically instead of the original one if users have defined their language setting to English)
    • ES - Specify a Spanish translation of your line items (this translation will be visible automatically instead of the original one if users have defined their language setting to Spanish )
    • DE - Specify a German translation of your line items (this translation will be visible automatically instead of the original one  if users have defined their language setting to German)

  5. Once ready, select all the cells of your Excel spreadsheet (including the column headers) and then hit the keys CTRL + C (PC) or Command + C (Mac) to copy
  6. Click in the Paste columns from Excel in the box below field and then hit the keys CTRL + V (PC) or Command + V (Mac) to paste. Green ticks will indicate that the cells' content is valid

  7. Click Save upon completion
