Reset MFA

If you have lost access to your authenticator or want to set up a different MFA device, you will need to reset your MFA token. This article will explain how you can do this.

To reset your MFA device yourself, you must either log in and have access to your account or know the recovery code and your login details. If you are unable to do this, please submit a support request so that the device can be reset for you.

Login with existing 2FA

If you can log in with the login data you know, a working 2FA registration is stored and you want to register a new device yourself, please follow the next steps.

Navigate to manage account by selecting the circle in the top right with your initials and selecting Manage Account:



Select Password and Security from the left-hand side menu:



Then select Reset MFA:



You will be asked to confirm that you do wish to reset your MFA. Select Continue:


You will be prompted to enter your password for security purposes. Once done, select Continue:


You will then be logged out of Thinkproject CLOUD and you will need to sign back in using your current credentials:


On login, you will be taken through the steps to set up MFA.

Make sure you have an authenticator app ready. We recommend Google Authenticator, but most authenticator apps will work:



With your authenticator app scan the QR code. Once your app has accepted the QR code, select Continue:



You will then be presented with a 6-digit code. Enter this code and select Continue:



You will then receive a backup code. You need to keep this somewhere safe in case you need to recover your MFA. Copy the code or save the PDF, tick the check box and then select Continue:


You have now setup your MFA and can select Finish:


Login not possible due to missing 2FA (with Recovery Code) 

If you can log in with your known login data, but there is NO working 2FA registration stored or the previously used mobile device is no longer available, please follow the next steps.

To do this, log in using either your known login credentials for either product or at

Enter your login details and click Login.

Then click "Try another method" and click "Continue".


Then enter your recovery code and click "Continue".


You will now be logged in and can proceed with reseting your 2FA under "Login with existing 2FA possible" in this article.
