Access Rights to Folders

Access rights to folders are determined through groups. Each user is assigned a group or groups which in turn have 1 of 4 types of access rights assigned to each of the folders of the archive structure:

N = No rights
The group has no access to the folder and will not see the folder including subfolders in the archive
structure.

R = Read only
The group sees all files in the folder but cannot upload to this folder

O = Write, read own
The group sees only their own files in the folder and can upload to this folder

W = Write
The group sees all files in the folder and can upload to this folder

Rights are usually assigned and modified by importing the User Matrix (see User Matrix) but can also be assigned directly in the system with the following two options:

Changing Access Rights to Folders

To change the access rights for a folder, select "Rights" from the navigation menu under "Archive":mceclip0.png

Click on the required group in the grey menu and then click on the required folder in the list next to the grey box.

The rights of that group for the selected folder will load on the right-hand side. Use the radio buttons to make the change and then click «Save».

Permission Tree

The Permission Tree allows for fast modifications of a group's rights to the entire folder structure.
Click on "Permission tree" in the navigation menu under "Rights".
Select the group from the grey box. For each folder you can select the required right for that group from the drop-down menus and then click «Save» at the bottom once all modifications have been made to that group. mceclip1.png

There are also bulk-option buttons available at the bottom of the page for a quick assignment of a right to all folders:
